to Jim Austin, SOS President Emeritus, for winning the 2005 Muskegon Area Environmental Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award!
The banquet honoring Jim and other winners, took place at the Muskegon Harbor Holiday Inn on
April 21, 2005.
This year the banquet speaker was David Rusk, an internationally renowned urban policy consultant. Mr. Rusk is a former federal Labor Department official, New Mexico legislator, and Mayor of Albuquerque. He has worked in over 120 U.S. communities and lectured on urban problems in Canada, England, Germany, South Africa, and the Netherlands.
The purpose of the Muskegon Area Environmental Excellence Awards is to recognize individuals, organizations, educators, businesses and groups for significant contributions and long-standing commitment to a better environment and to encourage environmental progress in Muskegon County.
